A Realistic Week of Movement for the Mom Who Has "No Time"

postpartum strength fitness plan for moms

If you feel like there’s never enough time to work out, you’re not alone. When I recently asked my audience what their biggest obstacle to exercise was, I expected answers like fatigue, nausea, or not knowing what’s safe during pregnancy or postpartum. But the overwhelming response was simple: time.

And honestly — I get it. Between work, kids, interrupted sleep, and everything else on your plate, long workouts often just aren’t realistic.

But here’s the good news: you don’t need hours to make progress. The key isn’t finding more time — it’s adjusting your expectations and creating a plan that fits your real life.

Inside this episode, I share what this looks like for my clients and the mindset shift that helps busy moms stay consistent. A few key takeaways:

  • Lower the bar intentionally. Progress doesn’t require 45–60 minute workouts.

  • Short sessions add up. Even 10–20 minutes of strength or core work can be effective.

  • Consistency beats perfection. 2–3 workouts per week is enough to rebuild strength.

  • Have a plan. The moms who struggle most are the ones winging it and hoping to “find time.”

I also walk through a realistic “minimum effective week” of movement that works around busy schedules, unpredictable days, and the demands of motherhood.

If you’re pregnant or postpartum and want to feel stronger but don’t know how to make exercise fit into your life, this episode will give you a practical place to start.
